Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains how GEMS CÂMBIO – Casa de Câmbios, Lda. ("GEMS Cambio", "we") handles personal data collected through this website. It is issued under the Angolan Personal Data Protection Law (Law no. 22/11 of 17 June) and related regulations.

1. Who is responsible for your data

GEMS CÂMBIO – Casa de Câmbios, Lda.
NIF 5417162256 · Commercial Registry no. 416-12/120220, Luanda

2. What data we collect

  • Contact form. Your name, company, work email, country, the content of your message and your consent.
  • Technical data. When you visit the site, the hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time of the request. These records are used for security and to keep the site running.
  • Language preference. The site remembers your chosen language in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

3. Why we use it and on what basis

  • To answer your enquiry and take steps you request before a possible contract, based on your consent.
  • To keep the website secure and working, based on our legitimate interest.
  • To meet legal obligations, including those that apply to financial institutions supervised by Banco Nacional de Angola.

4. Who receives your data

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and handle enquiries, acting on our instructions:

  • the website hosting provider;
  • the provider that delivers contact-form submissions to us;
  • our email provider;
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on the site and receives your IP address when the fonts load.

Some of these providers may process data outside Angola. Where this happens, we take the measures required by Angolan data protection law for international transfers. We may also disclose data to public authorities when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to handle your request and for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a longer period is required by law or you become a client, in which case the client agreement and applicable law govern retention. Technical logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period under its own policy.

6. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before. To exercise these rights, write to us at the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Agência de Protecção de Dados (APD), the Angolan data protection authority.

7. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to enquiry data is limited to staff who need it to respond.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
